Privacy Policy — My Engagement Assistant (MEA)
This Privacy Policy describes how the My Engagement Assistant (MEA) collects, uses, and shares information when you interact with our service on the Facebook Messenger platform.

2. Information We Collect
We only collect information you share directly through the Messenger interface so that the automated assistant can respond to you.

We do not access sensors or other device hardware (camera, microphone, location, etc.). We do not receive any analytics data beyond the listed identifiers and messages.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Service Provision: Deliver AI-generated replies to your questions.
- Service Improvement: Analyze anonymized patterns to tune response quality.
- Security and Reliability: Detect and prevent duplicate processing by comparing message IDs and timestamps to maintain a reliable experience.
4. Third-Party Data Processing (The AI Model)
- Provider: Grok AI.
- Processing: Only the text of your messages is sent to the AI model; your user identifiers remain in-house.
- Consent: By engaging with the assistant you acknowledge that your message content will be securely processed by the external model to generate a reply.
5. Data Sharing with Partners
We do not sell data. We share the minimal amount of information needed to run the service:
- Grok AI receives only the plaintext of the messages so it can craft replies.
- Facebook/Meta infrastructure processes the same API calls used by your Messenger client.
- Other Meta Companies may see the logs generated for debugging when Meta runs its own diagnostics; refer to their public policies for how they handle such logs.
6. User Controls and Your Rights
You can control and delete your information at any time:
- View or Download: Use Facebook’s built-in Tools & Settings to export the data that Meta stores about your activity.
- Manage Interaction: Use the Messenger conversation to stop sending messages; we will no longer receive new data.
- Delete: Follow the steps in Section 10 or email askmea@engagemea.com with the subject
Data Deletion Request - MEA (My Engagement Assistant). - Ad Preferences: Visit your Meta Ad Preferences (from your Facebook account settings) to opt out of personalized advertising or to manage data sharing with third-party apps.
7. Legal Compliance
We comply with applicable laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy statutes. Our legal basis for processing your message content is the performance of a service you opt into by contacting the assistant. We implement reasonable security controls to protect your data and respond to data subject requests in accordance with these laws.
8. Data Retention and Storage
Data lives in our Supabase Postgres database (project My Engagement Assistant) on Google Cloud. We
keep user IDs and message content for a maximum of 60 days, after which records are automatically
deleted or anonymized.
9. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your data.
- Correction: Ask us to fix inaccuracies.
- Erasure: Request deletion as described below.
- Opt-Out: Stop using the service at any time.
10. Data Deletion Instructions
If you need us to delete your data collected by the My Engagement Assistant (MEA), please use one of the methods below:
Method A — Remove the App from Facebook (Recommended)
- Go to Settings & Privacy → Settings on Facebook.
- Select Apps and Websites from the left menu.
- Find MEA and click Remove.
- This automatically notifies us to delete your stored data.
Method B — Direct Data Deletion Request

- Subject:
Data Deletion Request - MEA (My Engagement Assistant) - Your Facebook App-Scoped User ID (if you know it) and the date of your interaction.
We’ll confirm receipt and delete all logged interactions within 30 days.
